Samsung’s Public Safety Drone: A Concept for Enhanced Urban Security
In a world where safety and technology intertwine, Samsung has taken a bold step forward with a new concept: the Public Safety Drone, designed by South Korean innovators Minkyo Im and Seongjin Kim. Although Samsung has yet to release a consumer drone, this proposal aims to address public safety concerns in urban environments.

The Public Safety Drone, also known as DNDN, is not your typical consumer drone. This advanced surveillance tool is intended to act as a guardian for citizens who feel vulnerable, particularly in urban areas after dark. By utilizing a dedicated mobile app, users can summon the drone for real-time monitoring, creating a proactive approach to personal safety.
High-Tech Features for Enhanced Security
Equipped with four propellers, emergency lights, and a sophisticated 360-degree camera system, the DNDN is designed to operate effectively in various conditions, especially during nighttime. Unlike traditional CCTV systems, which often have blind spots, this drone can be deployed quickly to monitor areas of concern, providing immediate video evidence to local authorities in the event of a crime.
Focusing on Women’s Safety
The designers behind DNDN emphasize the project’s aim to make city environments safer for women.
