Venus Aerospace, a pioneering company based in Texas, is on the verge of launching a revolutionary hypersonic jet known as the Stargazer. At the core of the Stargazer’s impressive capabilities is the innovative Venus Detonation Ramjet 2,000lb Thrust Engine, commonly referred to as the VDR2. This advanced propulsion system ingeniously combines the rotating detonation rocket engine (RDRE) with a ramjet, enabling the engine to function smoothly from takeoff through to hypersonic speeds.
Unmatched Speed and Altitude
The VDR2 is engineered to reach astonishing speeds of up to Mach 6, equating to 3,600 miles per hour, and can soar at altitudes of 110,000 feet. This remarkable height allows passengers to witness the curvature of the Earth, offering an experience unlike any commercial flight available today. The Stargazer is designed for long-distance travel, with a range of up to 5,000 miles, making it suitable for various international routes.
