Admissions Overview
Auburn University embraces a test-preferred admissions policy. While we strongly encourage prospective students to submit their official ACT or SAT scores, these scores are not mandatory for admission or scholarship consideration.
Freshman admissions primarily focus on your high school coursework, grades, and overall academic performance. Students with a GPA of 3.6 or higher who do not submit test scores are eligible for the test-optional admissions pathway.
Applying as Test-Optional
To apply under the test-optional pathway, follow these steps:
- Complete the Application: Submit your admission application online.
- Application Fee: Pay the $50 application fee or request a fee waiver if you qualify.
- Submit Required Documents: Upload your high school transcript during the application process.
Eligibility for Test-Optional Admissions
Applicants with a GPA below 3.6 are not eligible to apply as test-optional students.
Submitting Test Scores After Application
Submitting standardized test scores can help us place you in appropriate courses and enhance your scholarship opportunities. If you have not yet taken the ACT or SAT, you may still opt for a test-optional review. Scores must be submitted to Auburn University by January 10 to be considered.
For further details regarding the test-optional admissions process, please refer to our Test Optional FAQ.
