How to Evolve Sinistea in Pokémon Sword and Shield: A Comprehensive Guide
Pokémon Sword and Shield, set in the vibrant Galar region, has captivated trainers since its release, drawing them into a world filled with unique Pokémon and captivating gameplay. Among the many creatures adventurers can encounter is Sinistea, a Ghost-type Pokémon that requires a bit of effort to evolve, making it a fascinating addition to any trainer’s roster.
Introducing Sinistea
Sinistea, known as the Black Tea Pokémon, is a whimsical character that resembles a teacup adorned with a face design, complete with cracks that reveal its mysterious liquid form. This Generation 8 Pokémon comes in two distinct varieties: Antique and Phony. The key difference between these forms lies in a mark of authenticity located on the bottom of the cup. Trainers must capture both forms to evolve them into their final stage, Polteageist, which will also reflect the authenticity of its pre-evolved form.
How to Catch Sinistea
Trainers looking to catch Sinistea should head to Glimwood Tangle, a lush area in the Galar region. The quickest route is to take a flying taxi to Ballonlea and head south into the forest. It’s important to note that Sinistea can only be found through random encounters in tall grass, and it will not appear on the Overworld map. Trainers can encounter Sinistea in various weather conditions, with levels ranging from 34 to 36. However, the chances of finding the Antique Form are notably low, sitting at just one percent, while the Phony Form has a slightly higher encounter rate of ten percent. Bringing along high-level Dark-type or other Ghost-type Pokémon can increase your chances of successfully capturing Sinistea.
Evolving Sinistea
Once you’ve captured both forms of Sinistea, the next step is to evolve them into Polteageist. For this, trainers must travel to Stow-on-Side, where they will need a specific item for each form. The Cracked Pot is required for the Phony Sinistea, while the Antique Sinistea necessitates a Chipped Pot. Trainers can find a Cracked Pot behind the Pokémon Center in Stow-on-Side or purchase it from the Bargain-Seller for 3,000 PokéDollars. The Chipped Pot, however, is not found in the wild and must also be bought for the same price unless it happens to be the daily bargain. Once you have the appropriate item, simply use it on the corresponding Sinistea to initiate its evolution into Polteageist.
